My Favorite Supplements

I get this question a lot. What is your favorite protein supplement? To be honest, I don’t have an all-time favorite, but I do have some that I prefer over others. I base my protein off of how well it mixes with water, the taste (obviously), and how my stomach handles it. Everyone’s stomach and digestive system is different, and everyone handles food differently so it’s very important to pay attention to how your body reacts to the protein supplement you decide to take.

My go-to and pretty close to an all-time favorite: FNX Fit Restart – AM Protein

Yes, this is a little different than your typical whey protein. You drink only in the morning because it includes nootropics (mood boosting supplement), Natural energy blend, probiotics, natural stimulants, and L-theanine for cognitive function. Perfect way to start your morning if you aren’t a coffee person and do not want an energy drink.

I have only tried the Orange Dreamsicle flavor and I absolutely love it. It is a very fine powder that mixes extremely well with water and I love it with almond milk. I am a big smoothie person in the morning, so the orange flavor pairs so well with all fruit. Now I did not take this when I was pregnant or nursing as it is not recommended to take stimulants regardless if its natural or not. As you can imagine I am very excited to start taking it again because it is a game changer in the morning!


Next up is the Retire PM Protein from FNX Fit.

I haven’t tried this until recently because, again I was pregnant and breast feeding, and this nighttime protein has melatonin and other aids to help you sleep at night. There isn’t enough research behind it to make it safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding.

There is only one flavor, Salted Caramel Cocoa which is unfortunate but it’s really good so its ok. Salted caramel can be tricky to master with protein, especially casein because it can be thicker but man, did they do a great job of creating this blend. It does mix well with just water but my absolute favorite way to drink this is as a smoothie.

1 banana

1 cup ice

1 cup water or almond milk

1-2 tbsp peanut butter

Walden farms chocolate syrup and pancake syrup.

1 scoop PM protein

For extra protein, I added some chocolate whey protein to it but this is optional.

Another option if you need some more fats or like a creamy smoothie, add ¼ of an avocado. I LOVE adding avocado to smoothies because it blends so well and gives the smoothie a little more creaminess.

What separates this casein protein from the rest is the nighttime blend. I had trouble going to sleep or falling back asleep after Gunnar woke me up in the middle of the night and this was a complete game changer. I fall asleep within an hour of drinking it and it’s a restful sleep. I don’t wake up groggy or more tired either. I feel refreshed and it makes getting up early a lot easier because I am so well rested. Highly recommend this to anyone looking to get a better night’s sleep.

For anyone curious about the difference between casein protein and whey, is that casein slowly digests which makes it good to drink at night, whereas whey is a fast digestive protein making it better for workouts.


Last one on the list is RedCon 1 – MRE Lite protein.

My husband bought this one while I was pregnant, and it was really easy to get down and didn’t upset my stomach at all. It’s an animal-based protein meaning their protein source to make this powder derives from beef, chicken and fish. Typical whey protein is made from milk which can upset some digestive systems.

The only downfall from this protein is that they don’t have your typical chocolate or vanilla.

The flavors I have tried are Chocolate Banana, Oatmeal Chocolate chip, Blueberry Cobbler, Dutch Apple Pie, Peanut Butter Cookie, and Banana Nut Bread.

While they are all really good, I don’t have one that is my absolute favorite or one that really stands out.

I do recommend this protein to anyone that has trouble digesting whey protein. And they have a ton of flavors for you to choose from!


Onto GREENS!! I get this question a lot from people who want to add a green supplement to their diet because they aren’t getting enough naturally from food and afraid to try one because green powders can have a bad rep of being to grainy or just tastes bad.

FNX Fit Rebalance Super Greens takes the cake on this one.

So, I am pretty sure FNX Fit has perfected their supplements on being the best mixers because you can’t even tell that you just poured their green powder into water. It’s that good. I am not over exaggerating either. If I can get my husband to drink it by itself, you know it’s good.

And that is not even the best part either. Their Unicorn Punch flavor is so good that you can’t even tell you are drinking greens. I have also had their strawberry dragon fruit flavor that I recommend as well. If you want to start off slow, I suggest mixing their greens in a smoothie so you can’t tell you even put greens in.


The other Green Supplement that I suggest is RedCon 1 GI Juice.

This one has more digestive enzymes to help with having a healthy gut. I like the tastes, but it doesn’t mix as well as the FNX greens.

They have two flavors, Pineapple banana and grape. I haven’t tried the grape, but the pineapple banana is really good. Again, this is another green drink that my husband can drink by itself, so you know it’s good!



So, I hate to break it to you but typically multivitamins are not enough to fill any gaps you have in your diet. Yes, they help a little bit, but they do not cover up bad nutrition by any means.

I do not take a multivitamin, but I do take a supplement to help with hormone balance.


1st Phorm – Harmony

This is for females that are looking for something to help balance out their hormones during that time of the month. When mother nature comes for that visit, our hormones fluctuate like no one’s business causing a lot of other issues. Yes, having a balanced diet definitely helps but unless you can pinpoint exactly which vitamin, mineral or function is off that month, it’s kind of pointless to get one supplement to help. This product is going to get its own blog post soon so if you want to hear an in-depth description of this product, just wait a few weeks and I will be able to release it!!

In the meantime, if you are someone who has struggled to find something that helps with hormone balance, inconsistent sleep, energy levels, weight management, and complexion, give this product a try!

I had great results from this. I took this for 2 years to help with my menstrual cycle and it did not disappoint. It helps with my focus and energy during the day and man did it help with my sleep. The night pack does wonders for your sleep at night. You wake up the next morning feeling refreshed. Now, I did take this while I was pregnant, and it helped a lot with sleeping and keeping my energy levels up. I do not recommend taking this if you are pregnant without talking to your doctor first.

The only reason I stopped taking it was the price. I loved everything that came with it, but I was looking for something to just help with my hormone balance for my menstrual cycle. Hence why I take the harmony supplement.

I highly recommend this product if you are someone looking for something that has all in one. You will not be disappointed by this at all.


This is all that I take because I want to hold myself accountable for keeping a well balance diet.


I have contemplated taking a probiotic but I love Kombucha and I eat Greek yogurt almost every day, so I am getting probiotics naturally. I did hear that Love wellness has a great probiotic for any females looking for a probiotic. If I try it, I will definitely let you know!
